Law enforcement is definitely a good thing to have. But there are definitely some cops that aren't fit to be cops and the whole prison system is a nightmare. We should definitely figure out a different way to punish criminals, preferably a way that gets to the root of why they commit crimes in the first place. But it is important to arrest people who commit crimes instead of letting them run loose in order to protect everyone else, and that's why we need law enforcement. Without it, we would have anarchy
Compare to the UK, there are no law enforcement in France. Maybe starting to match budgets between priorities and marketing for the next presidential will be a good start to have less blood in the streets...
Some work, some don't. I think there needs to be more solid psychological check ups on law enforcement people in training and through their career, I don't blame the job on the bad things happening any where, anyone can do stupid things when they're given the tools to do so.
Law enforcement should be open and honest. By and large in the uk it is - but there are some bad apples left over from old school policing. Police can only solve crime - tougher prisons and sentencing will keep criminals off the streets. Maybe more visible policing would be a good option. But must be even-handed. The liberal left must be kept out of sentencing and prisons, as they have made career as criminals an option.
The problem is 9/10 times law enforcement are called in after a crime is commented and 8/10 times do a fantastic job considering that they are low paid and 9/10s unprepared and equipped for a mojority of situations they face. Unfortunately it's very rare that law enforcement officers manage to prevent a crime before its commited
The police are supposed to work for us the public yet all they seem to do is enforce silly laws made out by the government that enable the police force to make a steady income in fines and other ridiculous charges. Civil servants is simply and forgotten word they work for crooked governments
